I have enjoyed your pictures. This one is positively freaky. Thankfully, in my many encounters with black bears, whether on foot, vehicle or horseback, I have never seen this!! Like your previous comment, I like the fact that you can see movement in the paws.

Nicely captured! Like the movement in the paws, yet still having the head/eyes in focus!

Description
I learnt my lesson while shooting this photo! I was driving through Riding Mountain National Park in MB when I came along a black bear in the ditch. I pulled over to take a few photos as normally in the park, the wildlife is not overly aggressive. Taking some precaution, I stayed behind my car, resting on the truck to stabilize myself. I moved one of my legs and that's when this large, Momma bear jumped at me with a large growl where I then quickly got back into my car! It was a heart pounding moment but I was sure happy to see that I had captured her on film... I suddenly realized that she had a small cub nearby which then had scooted up the tree. Never get out of your car!
